Nightmare!! They sent me confirmation codes! I bought it, hook line and sinker! Now they will try to steal my identity more. They had some of my info and my joint account holder. So I just handed over info!! A lot! No music, and the vive came through really faded, not clear. I was super distracted- i feel like an ****

I just got this Scam CALL stating a James was trying to Zelle money from my account as well as send himself a Cashiers Check. The FAKE Rep with Capitol One stated his name was David Porter with Fraud Protection and needed codes to STOP these transactions. I did provide codes and he stated I would receive a call within a couple of days regarding my new account number information. I called the number on the back of my card to speak with Customer Service questioning these tactics...Found it was all a SCAM...I am on HIGH alert to make sure no money is removed from my account without my expressed consent. No more giving any information ever unless I call CapitolOne myself.

Scam (Scam call) reported by Very Welcome
The threat actors are spoofing the CapitalOne number to call you to make you change your username and password to drain your account. They are using social engineering (your emotions) to get you in a panic by stating your account has been compromised in two areas by someone using an IPad. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY IFO. They tried it with me today. But I kept asking them questions and they hung up on me. By the way, the number came in as Cap One Bank. That is not the name.

This acct is an active acct for Capital One. However it’s also being used by scammers. They almost got me! They were able to text verification codes and access info that would look identical to Capital One. Do not fall for it! Tell them you’ll call the Scam department directly - the gentleman I was speaking to started arguing with me immediately. Telling me I would lose the $2000 dollars that were attempted to be sent if I hung up because of the “wait time”. All lies. Capital One had a 2 min hold. I was immediately on the phone with Capital One and no one had called me in reference to this. DO NOT GIVE THEM INFO. A hint is “no hold music” or then arguing because you are not comfortable giving them info.

Scam alert: call looks like it is coming from capital one, but it is a scammer trying to get you to give them a code sent by capital one so they can use your credit card information.
