Left message saying debt collection for Many internal Revenue Service and to call back with reference number, (never said they were calling for me specifically as they didn't say a name in their message) I haven't lived or worked in Massachusetts for years and I have never gotten a letter from irs or collection agency stating anything.

Never called back. Any government agency would mail you first, never some some vague voicemail that never even said my name.

It's actually legit. I called that number and found out I had a bill due and they brought me right on the Mass Tax Connect website and paid my bill directly to DOR.

No voicemail but Mass DOR says I have no debt (Scam call) reported by


I haven't answered and no voicemail has been left but 2 calls so far from "Mass Department of revenue" debt collector. I called Mass DOR, she looked up my social security number and "surprise", there's nothing about me in their system. I lived in Mass and although moved away a few years back I kept my Mass number which is why these likely scammers are calling. The lady said Mass DOR DOES use collection agencies but they will send a physical letter first from them and so will the collection agency after they tale control of it. I will definitely answer if there is a next time now that I've verified I owe nothing

Left a message stating they are from Mass DOR debt collection and provided a reference number. I called DOR and the numbers are not matching neither the reference number or the phone number.

Called and left multiple messages saying that they are EOS CCA representing Massachusetts Department of Revenue for failure to pay taxes. I would expect to receive a letter from DOR, not this. They have called 3 times and each time give me a different reference number. BS.

Yeah I called DOR and she said you'll receive a letter from them and then a collection agency at some point before anyone would try to call you. 99% chance this is a scam

they called saying my company owed taxes which I thought was strange b/c we have a payroll company and usually we would get a letter saying we owed money--never a phone call. I googled the number and saw these comments as a scam. They called me back and tried again to tell me we owed money. Definitely phishy.

This is correct it is a scam and neither the DOR nor the EOS collection for Mass DOR wish to report the number as a scam. DON'T Give them any info. I phoned both directly not using the number left to me.
