Legit GM Financial calling. They are calling if you currently or have had a vehicle financed through them. They call for a handful of reasons. My call was collections based on me returning my lease vehicle and possible wear and tear charges.

Asked for my account number and/or social security number and when I refused to give either stated that they could not help me. When I told him that he called me he and should already have this information he told me to have a nice day and hung up. Called number back and it was the same guy who answered...scam!!!

This is a scam. They called saying they were GM Financial but it was not. They are looking for "disposition" payments to be paid western union or bank information. DO NOT PAY SOMEONE WHO CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER. They told me I can not pay online because my account was closed (um its not closed, and how could my account be closed if I still owed money). If you are unsure, call back GM Financial at their number "1 (800) 284-2271" and have one of their employees pull up your account and tell you.

I have a payment arrangement with them re: my returned, leased Buick. They call each month to ask for the payment - after they've already gotten it, but they never check until I call back. If I don't, they call every day. Only have 3 more payments, thank goodness.
