Claims to be from progressive insurance. They can either email me or send me a message in the app. I'm not giving whoever this is a thing over the phone.

An insurance company will NOT contact via phone using an automated voice to update policy info. A customer service reps will call you and/or send you a physical letter, or email. This number called 3 times in 10 hours. I rejected the first 2, then blocked the number. A voice-mail was left on the 3rd attempt requesting myself (the main policy holder) or my spouse call a different number back and enter a message code. They did use our names as they're listed on our policy, but it is definitely a scam. I checked our policy, and everything is up to date.

Call left a message for me or my son to call xxx number and enter xxx code. I did not call, but it also said this call could be from Progressive or one of its affiliates. Not the case, ignore the call and block it.

Possible Telemarketer/Phishing (Robocall) reported by


Just got this call and the robot said they were from Progressive stating that I had a drivers license in a different state, and they wanted me to press 1 to speak to somebody and update my information. It said if I didn't have any specifics to call 1-800-Progressive. I hung up and called Progressive and they had no record of the call or the license from a different state. I gave them the number that called me for their investigation.

This number called pretending to be Progressive Auto Insurance. I released the call immediately because I know I don't have any claims in process with Progressive at this time. The last time I had a claim was 2 yrs. ago. There's NO reason why Progressive Auto Insurance would need to verify my account for any kind of claim.

This number calls, says you filled out online form requesting information on how to save on auto repairs. Hogwash it's a scam. They either don't skip a beat or if you say anything they hang up on you. How annoying !!!

This number called three times. Left a voicemail the final time. They know the name & that it is an account holder. This may seem authentic but it is a scam. Do not call the number, do not enter the requested code. Never share your personal information over the phone. Call progressive from their website contact form or live chat instead. They will verify that they did not contact you. Do not ever share your personal information via email or phone call like this.

“Important message from progressive” (Scam call) reported by


The voicemail left says it was an important message from progressive and to call a different number from what they called me on and enter a message code to retrieve the message from “progressive or one of its affiliate companies”. Contacted progressive to double check as others have done on here and they have no record of any contact to me for any reason. They said their automated calls are only for surveys, or renewals (which mine isn’t due to renew yet at all). They also mentioned they will never ask a customer to enter a code. They recommended reporting to FCC (and I will).

Leaves an automated message claiming to be progressive and asking you call a separate number and enter a code. No company operates like this. Further, reading though the comments here, there is one comment that says the call is ok and wants a driver license update. That entry is either by the scammer of someone who lost their identity. Don't call this number back, call progressive and you'll find out it wasn't them. Don't give out you DL info to this scammer.
