Caller was clearly in a call center. I was told my loyalty wasn't the problem, but my power was going to be shut off in 4 to 5 minutes if I didn't pay my bill. I pulled my account up on my computer and verified what I already knew, I've paid on time for 15 years. Caller claimed they sent notice 10-15 days ago. Yeah...no. Was given another number he kept insisting I call (800) 396-1799 to speak with a manager, but that I would probably be put through to voicemail. I could not find info on this number, but the number I was called from was 866-832-62xx. I insisted the guy turn around and let me speak with his manager. He finally gave up and ended the call, telling me to call the 800 number.

Calling in Spanish, supposedly from TECO to say that previous 2 payments have not been made and power will be cut off in 45 minutes. There were lots of voices in the background. I told her that it was an error because bills were paid and she was asking how we paid when I hung up on her.

They told me to go to the kiosk at Chevron on 6812 N 56th St Tampa and pay my TECO past due in CASH only. Callers name was Jason Reid and the caller ID was 866-832-6249 but when he gave me his call back # he gave me 813-575-5675 ext 4503. When I called that # it said call rejected! He called my cell# 3x to verify the status of payment when I said I wasn't going to do it he hung up!

Claimed they were ComEd and to pay them 750 dollars (Scam call) reported by


They called of several numbers claiming they were ComEd and even had automated voicemail with comeds information. They asked to pay $750 or they would shut down electricity. They called several times after that claiming they were in front of my house. They knew my mother’s name and address.
