Woman called asking for me by a previous last name and couldn’t pronounce the name. When I asked what it was regarding she said it was a personal matter. She would not tell me her name or company name. I didn’t feel comfortable giving her any information. Blocked the number.

A woman called. She wanted to talk to someone in my household. But the problem was there was two people with the same name. She told me she didn't know which one she wanted to talk to and just have her talk to senior. I told her that is my husband. Then she'd mediately changed her mind and said it was the other one. I informed her that he was my teenage son. She said, "Perfect, I will talk to him then". I asked her what it was about. she said she was a debt collector but wouldn't tell me what it was for or where it was from. I asked her what the name of the debt company was. It seemed to trip her up and she said BC. I asked what BC stood for and it sounded as if she made it up on the spot because she tripped over her words. My son is a teenager and has no outstanding debts. she tried to get personal information out of me by saying she couldn't tell me anything unless I told her his birth date to verify I was his mother. When I asked where the bill was from she gave me an old address of a place we used to live from 2 years ago. which I refused to give her the personal information she was trying to press me for. Then she hung up. It was an obvious scam.
