As soon as I heard him speak I knew he it was a scam call so I identified myself as an inspector for the Department of Homeland Security (which I am) and I asked him for his name and address. He gave me bunk information (James Smith on 1501 Amsterdam St., Palo Alto, CA) before he hung up.

Male with a thick accent called from this number saying I have been reported to have errors on my HP PC and that only he could help get rid of them... I told him that I didn't feel comfortable talking to him and we then proceeded to me telling him he is satans spawn... he then had not nice words for me !!!

I told them that I didn't have a HP and they said oh it's for your Dell. I said then why do I hear people talking about HP in the background. They couldn't answer, very thick accent and when I questioned them it got even heavier. No support was requested and this is a scam to gain access to your computer. DO NOT DO IT!!!

Called me to report HP is receiving messages that have virus on my computer and tried to get me to log into my computer while she was on the phone (heavy foreign accent). I asked for your name, HP ID number telephone number and she even gave me a "case number". I told her I wasn't comfortable giving access to my computer to a stranger and she told me my computer was going to crash and I would lose everything. Red Flag! I hung up and called HP directly (not the number she gave me) and of course they said, nope, we don't call customers to report problems and that is absolutely a scam.

Received a call this morning stating they are from HP and they are receiving errors from my computer. I listened because I thought it was a followup from hp that I called a few days ago. He also was speaking another language until I said English. He asked if I was near my computer. I said no and he said why in the morning are you not near your computer. He hung up. Do not give them access to your computer.

Give me a call and warned me about potential issue with my HP laptop. Then asked me to run some command or connect to some website from my computer, which makes me feel their request is very abnormal and suspicious. They said they are from HP technical support. Instinct tells me not to trust.

They said that my HP computer has a bunch of errors for the event viewer. I told him to *off when he told me that the errors were going to break the security of my computer and eventually crash my computer. The errors I was having were mostly from Bonjour iTunes services. I turned it off so that the battery would not be wasted as much and I do not need Bonjour until iTunes opens. I told him that I was a computer programmer and a computer builder. I am both of those and I run a different virus protection called McAfee. People may call this bad but I like it. It is better than the Windows Defender and the even viewer just shows errors that happen with programs. there are no real issues with the computer when this shows. It just shows what happened to the program when it tried starting up or something happened where the program crashed. He told me to delete them and I pretended to try and told him it failed. I want to be able to see the errors that happened with the programs I use for future fixes. HP WILL NOT CALL YOU AND TELL YOU THERE ARE ERRORS. THEY WILL GIVE YOU A MESSAGE ON THE HP SUPPORT ASSISTANT PROGRAM. IF THEY GIVE YOU A CALL AND TRY TO CHARGE YOU FOR THE ISSUE, DO NOT PAY THEM. HP WILL FIX THE ISSUE IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE COMPUTER GIVING YOU AN ERROR. AGAIN...DO NOT PAY!
