Called saying there is an urgent issue with my account, had my name the way BoA does when you request a call back. Then asked for my SSN to confirm my account. Like BoA when you call them. These two interactions DO NOT happen on the same call for a real BoA call. I hung up and called Bank of America back and they confirm this is a phishing or scam call and this number is not registered to them, there were no memos on my account stating I was called. Do not give them your SSN.

Call claiming to be Band of America (Telemarketer) reported by


Initial call asked me to enter the last 4 digits of my social security number. I did not do that. I called the number mentioned in the message 866-731-2687 and got a service claiming to be Bank of America. They led by asking me my account number. I refused and asked them to send me an email from the bank. They hung up. Whether or not this was phishing is to be determined but if this is a genuine call from the bank, they need to improve their processes. Everything felt like phishing.
