This is 100 percent a scam call center. These guys must have gathered a list of Comenity customers and are calling. You can consider it a lead of sorts. I do hold Comenity card but I have zero balance on it. Confirmed on my credit report it is the only account held by Comenity. After calling back the number out of curiosity, I spoke to a Phil that had a heavy Indian accent. That was a red flag right to me. I hung up, called again. Got a David this time with even heavier Indian accent. I work in IT with a lot of native Indian's. None of them have American names. Its more other nationalities that will adopt American names to blend in. I find this not the case with my brethren's from India or Bengali. I'm not saying that an accent should be your only method of deduction but it helps. There are scam call centers operating out of the Philippines that are more deceiving because Philippines have adopted English as their official language aside from Tagalog. Please don't give any personal information to them. Just hang up and block.

This number is not a scam! Comenity Bank is associated with over 145 retail partners and there is a chance that you have a card with Comenity Bank and might not even realize it! IKEA, Bed Bath & Beyond, Lexus, Sephora, Toyota, Williams Sonoma, Orbitz, Forever21, Pottery Barn, Victoria’s Secret, Overstock.com, etc etc - you get the idea!! - Over 50 million people have a retail card account with Comenity Bank! If you are receiving a call from one of their affiliated phone numbers, it is likely because you, like myself and many others, have fallen behind on credit card payments, so they are simply calling to inform you that your payment is late and then they ask if you’d like to take care of that today/pay by phone/whatever… but if you’re not comfortable with that, tell them you’re going to pay online as soon as you hang up. I’ve gotten calls from (720) 456-3694 and (866) 679-8097 and (614) 729-5000; they have several phone numbers and they almost always leave a message. Sometimes they text. Hope this helps!

No it is a scam

you’re wrong they are a scam they called me and left a voicemail pretending to be commenting bank , two actually, the first was the same recording but had an awful screeching sound over it like it was badly recorded. Red flag. Commenity bank will only do business by mail for the most part if you get a call it’s likely a scam. the # that called me is 9133123280 if you get a call from this # pretending to be commenity it is a SCAM.

They sent a text with urgent need to call Comenity. They asked for my name and telephone number, which I gave, and then they asked for my address and last four of social. I said no, tell me what this is about first. They said only after I verified three forms of ID. I googled this number as I spoke to them and saw this page and told them I would not give them further info, which didn't bother him in the least and he said have a nice day.

I have 2 store cards that are issued through Comenity Bank. Both cards have a zero balance and have had for months. One hasn't had a balance since the day I got it, I opened the acct and paid it in full the same day in June last year. The other one I paid off 2-3 months ago. Now I get a call saying they have an urgent matter that has escalated and came across the supervisors desk and I need to call them immediately. It seems that my credit report would not show a zero balance, and I would have gotten a notice before there was something that had to be escalated to a supervisor.
