Scam call reported by SIA User
I received a Voicemail from this phone number which said: "This is an Urgent Message for ... (my full name). My name is (gave name, possibly real or fake), "Processing Officer", from (city & state specified). The reason for this call is that you "failed to respond to court documents that were sent to you". (Note: I NEVER EVER received any such court documents from them, NOR have I ever been served with any legal papers from them by an official process server.). At this point in time, you must (MUST, yeah Really?) contact the legal department that is handling this matter. PMC Legal can be reached at (866) 577-3571 and when calling them you are going to need to reference your Case # (that is) -- (a 9-digit numeric number was given) -- Please contact them immediately. This is an Urgent Matter. Thank you and have a good day." --- This phone number has been Reported by others as a SCAM in http://www.800notes.com -///- Note: The following information is from http://www.800notes.com for the Phone number identified as PMC Legal. --- 866-577-3571 866 area code: Toll-free ¤ Leonard 26 Feb 2023 When the machine picked up caller hung up. ¤ Prescott 3 h 16 min ago | 1 reply Caller said they were calling to see if someone was home to sign for legal documents to be delivered within the hour. They could not answer questions about the documents but gave this number to call back to the corporation the papers were coming from. When I hung up, she called back 3 more times to try to convince me that this wasn't a scam. Claims failed to respond to court documents (Never EVER received) (Scam call) reported by Rich
Rcvd. a Voicemail Msg claiming it was an Urgent message for me. She said she was a "Processing Officer" from Sacramento, CA and that I had "failed to respond to court documents that were sent to you", and that I must contact "PMC Legal" at (866) 577-3571, the legal dept handling the case, and she gave a Case #. It's important to Note that I have Never EVER received any such "court documents", NOR have I ever been served by an official server with any such court documents. I DO believe that this is a SCAM.
