Setarus's main #. They're not a mortgage company! They are a mortgage servicer and they are probably the worst one in the business. Even Fannie Mae who actually holds my mortgage says they are awful, but unfortunately they do not have control over who services their loans, Congress does. I'm sure they are lining Congressman's pockets enough to keep their incompetence in business. I have never missed a payment in 11 and a 1/2 years , but they screwed up applying the payments for 4 months when they took over servicing from Bank of America and decided to foreclose on my house. Fannie Mae even told them that they should not be foreclosing on me, but they told Fannie Mae to go to hell! You cannot not even sue them. I have had to pay an extra $4000 to reinstate my loan and then sue Fannie Mae who did nothing wrong! This is not a rare thing with Setarus! Check the Huffington Post who has written about at least one case among many. They call but unlike the rest of the world they have a policy to never leave a message about who they are or about why they're calling. They started out as IBM's in-house debt collection agency and their whole structure still operates on that antiquated service model. Until then I had never had a single unsolicited call on my cell phone # of 20 years. But since they listed it as my phone of record, which it is not, on the foreclosure listing, now I get dozens of junk calls everyday. They're incompetence never ceases to amaze me. They often don't have a clue what they're talking about. I've had conversations with supervisors & managers who were wrong on something when I was surprised to learn that the answering agent was actually correctly informed, which quite often is not the case. Do not trust anything they tell you on the phone. I've learned the hard way that you do everything in writing with them! What they put on paper may still be wrong, but at least you have proof.

this is ceteris our mortgage company / debt collector which calls us up to six to seven times a day if we don't pay our mortgage on the first of the month. even though we have a 15-day cushion they still bombarded us every single day several times a day.
