Feels like a phishing scam. Claims to be collect call from an inmate in the [city that corresponds to my phone's area code] jail. The problem is that the jail is a county facility. The county and city have different names. The real county jail wouldn't make that mistake, foreign scammers would.

Got an 866 number, so I ignored it like I do all numbers I don't recognize. Voicemail popped up and it was a recording from a prison collect call robot. Deleted the message and blocked it. Turns out alot of county sherrif departments use the same number when I googled it.

They ask for the First time, YOUR ADDRESS, NAME, D.O.B., PHONE NUMBER, and LAST 4 OF YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. Very Intrusive JUST TO SPEAK to a Inmate Trying to Reach you! On e Verified, I GUESS FOR WARRANTS OR FELONY RECORD, then the person can call you at another time and date? That is my guess, why else would they need your Birthdate, name, and last 4 on S.S., & address?

Well dang, that is a LOT of unnecessary judgement, ignorant and callous stereotyping, and quite frankly, terrible advice. There are a plethora of reasons someone could be in jail, many many MANY of which are not indicative of someone’s complete character or worth as a human being. Have you ever drank a beer or two with dinner, and then drove home - clear as a bell - without incident? Have you ever had an argument with someone that maybe became a little heated, and it was loud enough for someone outside of your conversation to hear (any/some of) it, yet were thankfully able to eventually resolve it and go about your business? Have you ever visited another state and realized - after the fact - that you were unknowingly breaking rules/laws…like going a little faster than you realized or faster than what you expected the speed limit to be (and only after a speed limit sign got your attention, were you aware of it)? If so, my friend, you are guilty of Careless and/or Reckless Driving, DUI or DWI, Disorderly Conduct, Disregarding Traffic Safety or Control Devices, Harassment, and probably could arguably be charged and ARRESTED FOR breaking a dozen more laws, based merely on the small facts of the few examples I gave you…the bottom line is, you most definitely at one point in your life have broken the law, either willingly or unbeknownst to you, and you just didn’t get caught. Period. Fortunately, you weren’t penalized for something that was an accident, a mistake, a misunderstanding, or an exception to your normal behavior. Hopefully, the same goes for anyone else you know or care about. Unfortunately, not everyone is as lucky as you or your peeps. Everyone has a bad day. We all have regrets. Nobody is perfect. Treat others how you want to be treated. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Lessons are sometimes learned the hard way. God forgives. Karma is a b!tc4. Do not throw stones at glass houses. Called me and I didn't answer because I was busy. I called it later and it was a automated message. Couldn't make out the company name, I thought it said "thank you for calling 'tell me'" Idk I would say don't bother with it.
