Received a call (0n the answering machine) from Debra Lewis about repaying my student loans. I'm not going to call her back because I never had a student loan and if I had it would have been paid back 40 years ago.

Deborah Lewis wants me to call her back, so I did. I was given 4 prompts...1 if I wanted a student loan. 2 if my student debt was under 10 thousand. 3 if my student debt over 10 thousand. 9 if I do not have any loans and want removed from their call list. I obviously chose 9. it's been 30 years since I've had student loans, and they've been paid off over 28 years. I do not remember any of these calls back then n would recommend not talking to these ppl who randomly call numbers not knowing anything about whobtheyre calling. a well set up SCAM

Student Loan Never Had (Unsolicited call) reported by


Received call May 9 from "Unassigned" 443-258-9681 directing me to call Deborah Lewis at 866-449-1616 regarding student loan and to use reference number 101107. I have never had a student loan and credit is frozen. The call does sound more convincing than those saying my computer is about to freeze up if I don't call back, but after reading several internet posts will not call back.

I got the exact same reference number, what do you know! Exact same Deborah L. and 866 number the actual exact same message word for word! Never had a student loan!

I got the the same number and reference number with the same Deborah Lewis. Crazy how we all have the same reference number. This one sounds a lot more convincing.

Same Lady same reference number never had a student loan and haven't been in college in 15 years! I keep blocking the numbers she calls from but it is a different one every time! I really hope no one falls for this!

I also received the same reference number and at first thought that the call had something to do with the consolidation application that I had filled out in studentloans.gov. But after the man told me that they want to check if I am eligible for student loan forgiveness I knew that it was a scam and told him that that is not a thing and hung up. It’s a scam for sure

The number that actually called was 573-240-6345, but left 866-449-1616 as a call back number. The number goes to a call center for a company entitled "Student Loan Help Center" who is advertising they can get up to 90% of your student loan forgiven if you qualify. Without asking, they attempted to change the password on my FAFSA account so they could access it. At this point I declined further help. I called back and attempted to gather information about the company, as there have been past class action suits for fraud against Student Loan Help Center under Brelvis Consulting, LLC. The agent on the phone refused to provide any information about her company. I asked for a manager and she offered a call back. Total scam, please do not provide them with your personal information.

This number wasn't blocked. They didn't even show up in my call log, but they were able to leave a voicemail. Their call back number was different from the caller ID. Debra Lewis calling with another Student Loan Scam call.
