It's not a spam! Yes, at first the robot informs you about the call and asks to press 1 - to accept and 2 - to reject the call. Fortunately, I pressed 1/ There was a long waiting afterwords and then I heard my son's voice!!! Please, answer the call/ It might be a person attempting to get in touch with family and inform them about his or her safety/

I have a friend here who called. It does ask you to accept charges if the person calling doesn't have money on their account. It's around 16 cents a minute. I didn't have any problems and set up and account on gettingout.com

started getting these calls today. female voice speaking Spanish, calling every 20 minutes or so. picked up the receiver on the first one, but did not talk. Do not know anyone who is an illegal alien. They called to the number listed in the phone book, which is only for businesses and 9-1-1. In the time it took to write this, the same robot called twice. How does one get this number blocked

This is not a spam call. The automated message you receive in Spanish is the system that asks you to press certain numbers to accept, reject or block calls from the facility. This is a call from an ICE detainee attempting to get in touch with family. If you don't have a friend or family in custody, they are simply mistaken by the number they are supposed to be calling. The comments are here are ridiculous.

I received this call from a friend. It came in voicemail. When I call back it asks me to add money. How much do I add to talk and how does it know who to add it to?

I missed the call though if I'd seen it I wouldn't have answered it cause I didn't recognize the number. According to ice.gov it is a number to leave messages for ice detainees, but I dont know any undocumented immigrants so I think it is a spoofed call from scammers hoping some of the people they call will know someone who could be detained by ice & want to use that to scam money.

Not spam...someone close to u is calling. After all they remembered ur phone number without having their fone...they are being detained. Asking for credit card to pay for the call. Its someone who knows ur number by heart.
