I answered and he said he was from Dish TV, after I told him I don't have a TV (because I really dont have one) he asked how old I was, and then he asked for my instagram. I asked him why and he said because he "Wanted to hear the sound of my voice". So this guy is a creep. Answer if you're bored, but dont give any info.

Answered phone and am Indian accented male said hello this is direct to. I immediately cut him off saying please take me off your call list. He creepily laughed and said no, paused and then said never, laughed and hung up. I am blocking the number.

offer to upgrade tv satellite service for a fee (Scam call) reported by


Caller who knew my personal info attempted to solicit payment from me to upgrade my tv satellite equipment. He gave me instructions to "check" my current equipment using the remote control, which of course didn't work. He said he could check it remotely if I provide my PIN (which I gave him). Then he said it needed a software upgrade for $190.50. At this point, I began to realize it may be a scam. I asked why I should have to pay for a service I already pay for each month. He insisted this was necessary to maintain service. I said I will call my company and check this out - then asked if he was going to need a credit card company - at that point he disconnected the call. He realized I was on to him. I had to call my company after this to change my PIN.

Indian accent man saying he was calling from my Satellite TV Serv. I asked what satellite TV service do I have. He said Dish, then proceeded to tell me my equipment was obsolete and I would lose my picture in 7 - 10 days if I did not upgrade my equipment. He said he would send a technician to my home on Friday (in 2 days). I told him I thought he was lying to me and that I would call the local technician that installed my equipment 2 months ago. He tried to talk more, laughing and saying the local technician doesn't have this equipment and wouldn't know how to install it. I told him again he was lying, thank you and I hung up. I called my local installer and he verified that I have the latest equipment available, he took the 866 number and was going to report it to Dish.

I was called by some Indian accent man and asked me if I had Directtv or Dish. I answered with Dish but I told him I don't use it anymore. He ignored my statement so after accidentally telling my name so he would stop calling me only my first name I blocked the call and I know not to trust him.

Indian accented guy first asked if i had direct tv / dish at home, then went on to say that there were changes to service and needed to make sure that my equipment was compatible. bassically called him out on bs b/c 1. the number he called is not listed on my dish account, and 2. he had to ask whether i had directtv/dish... pretty sure the same person wouldn't be calling on behalf of both services... I then proceeded to hang up.

Indian-accented man called saying he was from "Satellite TV Service." I asked which one. He got tripped up for a moment and repeated himself. I asked again. He said DirecTV. I said no you're not, what's my name? He said uh... one moment... and took a minute to look up my information. I hung up. DirecTV already knows who they are cold calling (I've used them before). You can often here shuffling or other voices in the background of these scammers. They use an apartment crammed with a few to a dozen scammers using robodialers on their computers. They get a list of names and numbers to scam, so don't be duped if they know your name.

They said they wanted to install the Hopper. (Scam call) reported by


The guy said that he was from DISH and he was going to install a hopper box. After the installation, he would call back and I would have to pay a one time fee of $190 over the phone. I called DISH directly after speaking to this scammer and they verified that it was a scam and he was no way affiliated with DISH. He has called 2 more times after this. He said sexually explicit things to my underage son also.
