Pretending to be CRA and demanding immediate payment (Scam call) reported by


I did not answer the call but received a voicemail where they said they were from the vacation Dept of the CRA and I owed them money. They said that I had to act immediately to pay this money by calling them back or they would wish me the best of luck dealing with the unravelling of this incident. It was meant to be very intimidating and threatening. When I did a reverse look up on the number,it showed up as a number for a private escort service that was under investigation in Ontario. Needless to say the CRA does not make these kinds of calls. I blocked the number with an app I have and received another call from the same number several hours later on the same day.

Information about my account (Scam call) reported by


Received 3 calls from this # in 14 days. They knew my first name. Said they were calling from PC Mastercard and wanted to discuss my account. I told them I was not comfortable discussing this over the phone. That they should send me an email regarding the issue and I would contact them myself by phone. They hung up on me. But continued to call me 2 more times after that. I called PC Mastercard in regard to this as the calls did come from there customer service #. They said they had no history of these calls being made from them. They said it can be set up to look like # coming from them and is quite easy to do. They said they would never phone and ask for info like that and that it is the right thing to reject such a call and check with PC directly re such an issue. This is for sure a Scam.

No message left. Most likely an autodialed spam call on a Federal Holiday. I have no credit issues and need no additional crediti cards. I am on the Do Not Call list.
