Caller I’d identified the call from att/direct tv, said they had a promotion reducing my service for 2 years, but I had to pay $300 in advance to qualify for this. Hung up and called direct tv, told me it is a scam!

Pretended to be AT&T to get my info. (Scam call) reported by


6/25/19-Caller indicated that he was from AT&T calling to condcut a 2 minute survey for whcih I would get a $25 credit for. Since I just had an At&T tech sent to my place, the call did not seem out of the ordinary. They asked the standard survey questions, then asked for my 4-digit passcode. Then they indicated that they would send me a text with a code to confirm. Being that they are the ones calling me and I already provided a passcode, I got suspicious and hung up. I immediately called my service and changed my passcode. They confirmed with me that they do not call customers for surveys and that it was indeed a scam. Then I googled the number and saw this site. Beware!

Today 6/24/2019 at 1 pm they called me stating they were from the loyalty group because I have been with AT&T for so many years they were going to do a survey he asked me a bunch of questions and in between texted me some text that looked legit to me, I hung up n thought all was good. 10 mins later my ph said No Service. I went online n noticed I had a new device in my line and a new phone number in other words a total new line!! Es ph it’s close to $1k. I drive like a maniac to a AT&T store and they confirmed I was a victim of FRAUD!!! Please be alert the number who called me was +1 (866) 241-65xx

They called and knew my name and said they were from AT&T conducting a survey for their service and I just cancelled AT&T as my WiFi service provider and think their customer service is terrible so I was more than willing to provide my feedback. The first question was how would I rate my service overall and the second was how would I rate my clarity in phone calls. I don’t have phone service with them so that was a red flag and I told them so. The man then asked if anyone had ever told me I had a beautiful voice. I said excuse me and asked for his name and he just repeated himself so I hung up.
