I'm sure there could have cases. of people possibly spoofing the number, but if it came in conjunction with a text message from Citizens (31811), and/or an email from them ([email protected]) and asks about a charge to your account and when you hit Yes or No, you will get a call back from the number to send you a new card. They WILL NOT ask for your PIN or Social Security number. It is a legit Citizens Fraud number. Always check for misspellings in all emails/texts to check for fakes and if they are not trying to verify the fraudulent charges and send you a new card and they are asking you for your information then it is not Citizens. Just be smart about it.

Again, this is NOT the real Citizen's Bank! STOP RATING IT AS LEGIT! It is a phishing scam email/call using spoof ID that appears legit to deceive you. It is literally fraud fraud. if you receive a call from 866-220-0886 or an email/text saying to call it, report it immediately to the REAL Citizen's bank fraud dept: To report any suspected fraud concerning your Citizens credit card call us at 1-888-307-9565 or call the phone number found on the back of your credit card or monthly statement. Attach any suspicious emails you may receive to a new email and send them to [email protected]. Then, be sure to delete the suspicious emails from your mailbox.

Hi Miranda, I just dealt with Citizens right now, maybe people spoofed this number to phish, but it is also a legit number. I received an email from Citizens and the fraudulent charge they referred to is on my account. They did not ask me for any information at all they just went through and double checked which activity was mine and which was fraudulent and then they sent me a new card. My old card is deactivated now, so it was definitely Citizens and they werent looking for any information. So, it is their number. The email that it came with it is from [email protected] which is a their email as well. I would at the very least say just be smart when answering the number and if it seems like they are asking for unnecessary information or the text/email aren't from a legitimate address, then to call Citizens fraud directly, but it is, or can be, them.

Call to alert Citizens bank customers of potential fraudulent activities on their account. Usually a text and email is also sent to customers so if you don't trust the phone number, make sure you've also received a text and email detailing the activities. You can also just call the fraud number on their website since this one unfortunately isn't listed, which makes users not trust the number.

They called said my citizens Bank Debit cart was used by someone else...but I don't have one. I played along. The scam is they send you a text link to cell phone. Don't click it. It asks you a question..if you reply ..you are screwed.

I received a text about fraud on my card then I received a call from this number. It came up scam likely but when I answered it was for fraud on my bank card. It was a real person but I’m going to look more into it because I started to think maybe it was a scam. I really don’t think it was a scam because I did have a lot of activity on my account that was NOT me and they told me to call Apple so I did and they are refunding me my money within 30 days. I am in fact going to call citizens bank tomorrow and find out if that really is a real number from their fraud people. If I can I will get back on here to let everyone know if it is a real fraud place or a scam. I’m still getting a new bank card because either way if it was a scam or not someone was trying to use my card without my permission.

no message left. After I saw the other comments, I checked my acct. And then we got a text listing charges that were being questioned. I called the number listed online for fraud as I was still leery. It was a legit call but not sure why I got no message. Glad we got the text.

Hmm, even the Caller ID doesn't say some info, does someone know who is this? Have got a missed call from this one, don't wanna call back since I do not know the number... And as it seems also someone else was looking for the same number - people did someone answer it? Who is behind this number?
