Missed call, no idea... (Other) reported by Tony

People did someone answer this number? I had few missed calls from this one, probably some call centre robocaller testing my number? I don't answer unknown numbers and they left no message. I was trying to dig some info on the internet, don't want to call them back until I know who might be calling but no luck. Some idea who is it?

A error message on my computer said I had a security problem with Windows. I called the # it gave - 8602696562. It was a call center in India. He said it was a support center for Windows and there was a problem that can only be fixed over the phone with him. He asked that I hit the 'windows key on my computer. I told him I wasn't at my computer right now but wanted to know what to do to fix it later. He said I had to be at the computer so I could give him permission to access my computer so he can fix it. I am thinking this is a scam!

Today a pop-up page appeared on my PC screen, saying that my PC was attacked by virus, and showing the phone number, 1-860-269-6562, to be called. I suspected this was a scam. But I called the number to see what would happen. To make a long story short, I was asked to pay $199 by credit card. I said that I didn't have my credit card at hand and needed to go upstairs to get it, and asked him to wait. You can guess what I really did. I just hung up the phone.

Just got a popup saying had to call this number to get a problem fixed through Microsoft. That someone had signed in from another location to my computer. Called the number--which is a CT area code- and was answered by a man I presume was either from India or in India. Hung up on him.

Got the same pop up. Couldn't get pass the it. Shut down & called the number back. I let her take control only to see where she would go.She openedup a screen that showed errors so I said to here I have security on this computer but she said I didn't. Ok, then she proceeds to tell me that his needs to be fixed & I would have a fee to pay, at that point I said nope, I have security I'm done & disconnected her. WTF!!!!
