Legitimate (Company) reported by

It does seem to actually be Sprint/T-Mobile. Like most people here, I kept getting calls from this number like once a day with no voicemails, and it was extremely irritating; this evening I actually had some time, so I went ahead and took the call. The lady asked for me by name right away (good sign), confirmed the model of phone I had without me telling her (also good), informed that it was on the list of models that will be incompatible with the new system, and offered to send a new one (free) to the address I already had on file with Sprint (which she correctly read out, also without me telling her). Now, she DID ask me for the answer to my security question, which seemed a little sus - but I can understand wanting to be sure that I really am the person on the contract, and not some joker saying "yes that's me" to everything. Besides, by then she'd already confirmed several points of information to suggest she was legitimate, so I'm not worried. We even had a pretty normal, friendly conversation while she input all the details; make of that what you will. She expressed surprise that I hadn't gotten voicemails, saying they are SUPPOSED to leave them... idk. Sprint/T-Mobile could really stand to do better then this, siccing these call center reps at random on unsuspecting customers, resulting in (justified) confusion and anger on part of the customers, who in turn heap abuse on the reps. (I've worked in call centers before and it's really no picnic. Please stop being rude, y'all, they're just trying to earn a living.) But anyways, I really do think this is an OK number to pick up, and probably a good one to pick up soon if you have the time. If I haven't gotten my new phone after a week (5/19/22) I'll be sure to come back and revise this review ;)

Mike Z again, today is now 5/16/22 and UPS just dropped off a package which contained my new phone. THIS IS NOT A SCAM, I know it seems suspicious (I thought so too, for several months) but TAKE THE CALL. Feel free to have them read out for you whatever personal info they have first so that they can prove themselves. ALSO, if you really hate giving out the answer to your security question: DELIBERATELY GIVE THEM A WRONG ANSWER AT FIRST and they should prove themselves by telling you that you got it wrong. (I didn't think to do this until later, but it seems like a pretty good system to me.) Hope this helps my fellow skeptics in the future before the 5g rollout drops and our old phones become glorified ipods. I predict some nastily long wait times then.

What I don’t understand is if they are legitimately calling, why have they left NO MESSAGES over the course of calling multiple times per day (including weekend) for multiple weeks? It makes zero sense. Even debt collectors will leave a message now and then.

Scammer (Call centre) reported by

This number is the source of all my spam calls. I was getting 6 calls a day from this number and many other calls from spoofed numbers. I got fed up and blocked this number and all the calls stopped. Haven't gotten a spam call in 4 days.

Claimed calling from TMobile about phone needing replacement (Scam call) reported by

They have been hounding me daily from this number. I mostly let it ring without answering but took the call last week. High-pressure pitch to sign up for new phones. "Deal only good on this call". I told him I was working (which was true!) and didn't have time to listen to the sales pitch and make a decision. I asked him if he had literature to review. No. I asked if I could call the calling number back to discuss when I had more time. He was evasive with this question and tried to dodge and went directly back to the sales pitch, saying he could "do this quickly". ASKED FOR MY SOCIAL. Any legit business making proactive calls knows your information. I finally hung up on him. They have NEVER left a voicemail and have called me multiple times a day.

See my comments above. They are legitimate. Probably shouldn't be asking for your social, but I'm guessing they didn't have a security question to ask you first. Idea: if they ask for your SSN again, deliberately give them a wrong answer, and let them tell you that it's wrong - that should prove it.

Said they represented optimum and wanted my social security# (Debt collector) reported by

This number calls many times per day. Sometimes at 7:40 am and as late as 8:40 PM. I’ve answered this calling number three times: #1 - I pick up and no one is there. #2 - it was t-mobile telling me they are doing away with their 3G network and one of the phones will need to be upgraded. Seemed legit as they k ew the make and models as well as the numbers on my phone. They looked up records on when I purchased these phones and the dates were right. #3 - a debt collector from optimum. Threats and all that stuff. Rep wanted the last four of my doc sec number. I told him to write me if he has an issue with me, don’t call. I hung up and never answered any incoming calls from this number thereafter. Debt collectors cannot call early and late in your time zone. Nor should legit business folks call during these private/personal times. My take is, if they don’t leave a message, they are not legitimate. I scan my incoming by those who leave a message.

free phone 5g upgrade (Service) reported by

tmobile is shutting off their older cell towers or upgrading to 5g exclusively so they called to give me a a 5g phone upgrade for 20$, it may seem questionable but all the information and emails and agreements i signed are the real deal.

T-mobile (was Sprint) called about phone replacement (Company) reported by

I have an old Samsung Galaxy S7 which is about to become obsolete on January 1st when T-mobile retires Sprint's old 3G network. So call was to inform me, and offer information on how to replace it. Lady was extremely nice and helpful!
