The call was actually for my boyfriend. They were trying to get ahold of him urgently to confirm if activity on his card were made by him. We live in Hawai'i, but there were charges being made at a store in New York. My boyfriend confirmed he was not in New York, nor was it his charges. They blocked the fraudulent charges, issued him a new number and sent him a new card. For those that have said they never applied for a Costco Citi Card, if you have a Costco membership & if you had a Costco American Express card, then you now have a Costco Citi Card, as Costco's contract with American Express ended the beginning of 2017 & all Amex accounts were automatically transferred to Citi Bank Citi Card Accounts. If you had outstanding charges on your Costco Amex, those charges were transferred to your new Costco Citi Card for those charges. I pay mine in full, so I knew when they started calling in April, it was my boyfriend's account. He never opens his mail & since he had monthly auto pay on Amex, he didn't realize he owed Citi & not Amex, so was getting over due balance calls after the switch over. Once he took care of the late payments & auto pay, the only time we get calls now is if they need to confirm possible suspicious activity.
