I've gotten this exact type of call many times over the years: they state they are the "Government of Canada", and they are suspending my Social Insurance number due to suspicious illegal and criminal activity so they need to speak to me urgently. Definitely a scam so I never answer or reply but wanted to ensure others do not fall for this threatening kind of call or message on their phone. Do not answer or reply to these kinds of scammers.

A place called LoanIQ called me NINE TIMES (Financial services) reported by


I kept getting calls Friday from a Loan IQ and I kept telling them to stop calling me. I damaged my phone Saturday and bought a new one. When I set up the phone Monday, I had NINE MESSAGES from Loan IQ: "Hi, this is LoanOne, a division of the Union Bank Company [they seem like the same company]. We're trying to reach you regarding an online request for information about a home mortgage. By now, we know that your phone and e-mail have bee inundated with calls from lenders. We'll continue to attempt to reach you two to three times a day by phone and an occasional email. and we know that other lenders may be contacting you even more. We apologize if this is overwhelming . Please call us back at the number on your caller ID to discuss your options or to update your inquiry. or, if you wish to call to stop, just ask us to add you to our internal do-not-call list. We hope to be a solution, not an irritation. Thank you and talk to you soon." I left a voice mail asking me not to call me. Today, THEY CALLED ME AGAIN! I'll join a class action suit against them if anyone knows one.
