Microsoft Refund Department (Scam call) reported by


Caller stated that I paid for computer products from Microsoft and that they wanted to refund me what I paid. I know that I didn't order anything from Microsoft so I asked him to just refund money to the bank/credit card I "paid" them with and he stated that I had to "open my computer" to get paid back. I then asked for a phone number where I can reach them again after I checked them out online and he gave me a bogus number. So that is scam like behavior.

what I saw on my computer. What icons? Huh. He said I was due a refund because Microsoft was closing down? He said it was a $290 refund. I told him that doesn't sound right at all and I hung up. I received an automated voicemail initially and I called them back which I normally don't but I was expecting a call w/a phone number that I would not recognize, so I called back. The guy spoke where I could not understand. He said he needed my address to send my information and started say what else he needed and I hung up. Didn't sound right?
