Xfinity support but I have Suddenlink (Company) reported by


I've been having issues with Suddenlink for two weeks. I set up an appointment, and someone called me from this number and told me my problem was on their end, and they would resolve it shortly, then he cancelled my service appointment. My issue never got resolved so I called back and set up a second appointment. Two days before the appointment, I missed a call from this number. THey asked me to call regarding my appointment. I called back today and got someone with a thick Indian accent. She identified herself as Xfinity support. I gave her my phone number attached to my SUDDENLINK account, and she told me it didn't show up in her database, and she could not help me. I wonder if Xfinity, Comcast, and Suddenlink all use some kind of third party support, and their wires got crossed. I have no idea why a competitor to Suddenlink would somehow have my number and call me to discuss my upcoming appointment.

FAKE COMCAST CALL (Service) reported by


I RECIEVED THIS CALL TO CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT THAT I HAD WITH THE TECHNICIAN THE FOLLOWING DAY. THE MAN ON THE PHONE SAID THAT HE WAS MY TECHNICIAN AND THAT MY SERVICE IS NOW FIXED. AT THE MOMENT I WAS NOT AT HOME SO I COULD NOT CHECK, HOWEVER I KNOW THIS IS A SCAM BECAUSE IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE. I HAVE MENTIONED IT TO XFINITY AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS A SCAM. BASICALLY, SOMEHOW THESE PEOPLE ARE ABLE TO SEE WHO HAS APPOINTMENTS FOR TECH SERVICE COMING UP, THEY CLAIM TO HAVE FIXED YOUR PROBLEM, AND WHEN THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED, THEY OFFER ADDITIONAL (FAKE) SERVICES. IF YOU HAVE A TECHNICIAN SCHEDULED WITH COMCAST/XFINITY, THE ONLY PHONE CALL YOU WILL RECIEVE IS WHEN THE TECHNICIAN CALLS YOU TO INFORM YOU THAT THEY ARE EITHER ERT OR AT YOUR HOME. OTHER THAN THAT, ALL CONVERSATIONS WITH TECHS/CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS ONLY HAPPEN IF YOU CALL THE XFINITY NUMBER. THEY DO NOT RANDOMLY CALL.

I received a call from this number on August 16, 2019. The ID number said it was Comcast Support. I happened to have a scheduled appointment with Comcast and thought that is was a call to confirm this. It was not. The women had a very strong Latino accent and I could not understand a word she was saying. I asked her who was and she hung up. When the Comcast repair person arrived I reported this to him. He said that he would report the number to his supervisor to check on its legitmacy
