This number is on Keybanks website and it warns customers not to answer! It is a scam! The call is pinged from Indonesia and they want your money! Google has this number flagged as a scam over 198 times. I warned Keybank and Google!!

Got a text with charge details regarding possible fraud, asking if this was a charge I had authorized, and saying to call this number. Replied NO to the text, got a new text repeating the number and saying the card was now on hold, and then it called with an electronic voice. Couldn't respond (was driving), so went home and called the main Key number (800-KEY2YOU); there WAS a fraud attempt on the card. They're sending a new card which should arrive in 3-5 days. (The short number for the original text was 33748.)

Made sure with my bank it was legit. Sure enough it is and someone tried taking my money. Happened again recently and it coincdided with all the fraud alerts i set up after the first time. Good number, but you should always be the one to call your bank.

It is NOT a scam. It is the automated Keybank Fraud Department letting you know of potential fraud on your account. I work for Keybank. If they call and text you, answer or call them back. Until they hear from you, your card will remain blocked.

I tried to order pizza with an online app. My card was inputted prior and expired since then so was declined. I closed the app and called in my order. (Paid cash at pick up) My bank never texts, never calls. I looked at my bank app and it showed nothing was transacted through the pizza app. Got a text and call from 8555748228 saying they were “fraud protection” making sure the transaction was me. Scam. Scam. Scam.

After getting a message from (855) 574-8228 warning me that I had some fraudulent activity in my KeyBank account, I called the main customer support number for KeyBank at 800-KEY2YOU® (539-2968). To my total surprise I was told that their fraud department called my home earlier and left a message asking me to call them back. Turns out this phone number is legit and I had three fraudulent attempts to steal over $500 from my account. KeyBank cancelled my card immediately and issued a new one. I'm glad I called them back! My advice: it's good to be suspicious but always double check with your bank!

I called the number after a text about fraud on my account. I did have a fraudulent charge so I called this number. They didn't ask for any passwords, security questions or any info more than identifing me. I later called a seperate Keybank number (1-800-539-1539) that is on their website. They confirmed everything that I had told the person on this phone number and said that is their phone number. I don't know why so many people are divided on this but you can just call Keybank and have them tell you its real.

I received a call from this number on my home phone, the caller left a message claiming to be from KeyBank fraud department and when I called back from my cell it told me to enter the number that I have received the fraud message on, after entering my home phone number it was able to find my account and the HUMAN I spoke to actually knew the most recent charges on the account.

Yes, this is legit. Someone tried to use by debit card number at a gas station and I received a text asking if it was me. I responded NO and instantly received a call. I was suspicious of the number, so I called the Keybank customer service number. It was legit fraud and cancelled my acct.

I have worked for Key Bank all the way back to the 90s (When it was Society Bank) I tell you EMPHATICALLY that this is not legitimate. This. Is. A. SCAM. Do not engage with these people in any way. Anyone here saying this was legitimate is working for the scammers. Always call Key Bank directly from established numbers (1-800-KEY-2YOU). Never, EVER call any other number. EVER.

I did not answer calls from this ph# (1 855-574-8228) as I thought it was a scam with the robocall message stating it was the Fraud Dept at Key Bank. Especially because I checked my acct and saw no fraud. When I was unable to get gas with my card (they placed a freeze on it), I called KB. They verified it was from their fraud dept and I needed to verify a few transactions (all legit and from places we use often, grrr). The hold was released and I could use my card again. I don't know what made them think these frequent transactions/purchases were all of a sudden a concern. There was nothing out of the ordinary about them. Soooo, it's legit but annoying at the same time. Call KB or the ph# on the back of your card to be sure and take care of things before you also find one day that your card doesn't work!
