debt collector left vm for my husband on my cellphone (Debt collector) reported by


Caller did not identify what company he was calling from, obviously a pre-recorded scare tactic because my husband's name was inserted with a robo-voice over. When I Googled this number, I see it is a law office in Southern California. This should be reported, very unethical and illegal tactic calling spouses and making threats. Does anyone know what agency this can be reported to, who will actually do something about it?

I am sorry this scammer is bothering you, but we are not associated with them. Please ignore the call as it is a scam.

They called my sisters home phone. The company they are from is 'MSG'. The only MSG i know of is Madison Square Garden. They said that if i didn't return their call that same day, I will have a warrant for my arrest, and have charges drawn up against me causing me to go to court and possible jail time. I tried calling them back to get to the bottom of this. WHY did they call my sweet sister and not my actual phone?? Nothing made sense. No answer, nothing. I figured the whole thing is a scam.

It's a debt collector and they can't have "charges drawn up" or a "warrant issued". I hope they read this thread so they find out what * they are threatening criminal action for a CIVIL matter. Believe me, if they wanted to find you - they could/would. They have skip tracers that spend their entire day combing Facebook and other social media to find outstanding debt. They called my mom and scared her half to death. They need to go back and read the Unfair Debt Collection Practices Act. They can't use threatening tactics (especially ones that are deceptive) when trying to collect a debt.

I received a voicemail and it said that they needed me to call them back so that they can take legal action against me. They stated that they needed my work and home address. They never said where they were calling from and what it was regarding.
