The older guy said he was with advanced technical service at at&t and wanted to cancel my service call for the next day because, he said, the line was clear and working. I said no, I want that service man at my house tomorrow at the agreed time to fix this line once and for all. I don't know how he got my information, but I really think it was a scam of some sort.

Did not answer but they left a recording about an account number (which wasn't even mine) instructing me to call a different 800 number. It was a recorded auto message of a woman's voice. I already paid my bill and don't have a second account with them. Very suspicious. Beware!
