Caller ID was spoofed as "Comcast." Sounded like a call center, likely in India. Started to ask if there had been "changes to my modem." I believe he was about to tell me I have a problem (I don't) and offer to "fix it." I hung up and blocked the "number." I think they had spoofed a real Comcast number.

Scam Xfinity Call to "fix" modem issue (Scam call) reported by


Caller asked for me by name and then said there are 14 devices and Ips from foreign locations using my modem. He was going to help fix it. I said why would I need to be a part of the fix if Xfinity was the provider. Advise I was hanging up, then caller got mad and said he will be turning off my service and someone will come to my door to collect my equipment.

He claimed to be with xfinity,which I believed because I was having trouble with my wifi well long story short after an hour while he was remotely controlling my computer he was like do unhave bitcon I said yea after that he totally forgot about being concerned about my xfinity wifi being hacked he started demanding me to send him my ID so he can access my coin base account. After he said ma'am your pay pal has been hacked I was like ah no because I don't have pay pal he flipped and Started yelling I said ok I am going to call to verify you he hang up

They wanted to fix a security issue with my Comcast modem, but they needed access to my computer. I told them I did not have one then they told me to go and install Anydesk app on my phone. I told them to find a job. I Hung up and blocked the number.

They said they are from Xfinity Comcast and someone is hacking my internet, and they want to log in my computer and allow them to fix my modem and block the hacker. But they don't know what kind of modem I have. If they are real Xfinity customer service, they should know what kind of modem I have.

I called Comcast for my 95 yr old mother who was having a problem with her cable. They put me through to a customer service rep, who are now working from home because of COVID. I lost the call, but she called me right back. This is the number she called from. It is a legitimate number from a Comcast representative. She actually fixed our problem remotely! Did a good job!

The caller ID said Comcast so I was curious and answered and he was foreign and claimed to be calling from Comcast and said he was calling to fix my internet connection. I asked how he was going to do that (sarcastically) and he said through my computer, for me to go to it and he will log in and show me. I replied "it will be a cold day in H*LL before I let you in my computer" I said when I know you are trying to scam me. He said oh you know it's a scam ok bye and hung up! UGH
