This was a legit message left regarding my Paypal Synchrony card. They had a question about a couple purchases I made. However, I called my card directly. I don’t call back or answer unsolicited credit card numbers. Always use precautions!

They called to verify a charge on my Synchrony Bank credit card. I previously received a text saying they would call. Before that, I got one of my usual texts from them asking to reply Y or N about that charge. I replied "Y". During the phone call, I decided not to answer their questions, because "you never know." Later, when I called the number on the back of my credit card and asked if that was a legitimate call from Synchrony Bank, they said yes. That company is really active on monitoring accounts for fraud.

Legit call to verify online purchases. Of course if you call them back they ask for the last 4 digits of your SSN, just like EVERY financial institution does when you call them. Verification is a two-way street - do you really want them giving your information to someone who calls them pretending to be you?

I was uncertain if this was a legitimate call, they sent a text message for me to follow and verify my identity. I went ahead and called the number on the back of my credit card instead of following there instructions. But it was a legitimate call, there was a fraud charge and my card was cancelled and they are mailing me a new card. I'm still glad I called the number on the back of my card instead of taking a video of me and a copy of my license or SSN for them. That is never a good thing to do if you are not the one that initiated the call.

Got call "potential spam" but answered and they were calling about fraudulent charge on my card. And my wallet was just stolen, I was waiting for police and already got texts from bank and Citibank and synchrony. Guy did ask for ssn and i gave it because I thought it was legit. But not so sure. Will call social security and see if they can flag ssn for identity theft.

synchrony bank - Amazon card, financial services, The company called, almost immediately after my 2nd purchase about possible fraud on card due to 2 high end purchases over last 2 days. She did not ask any account numbers, dates of birth or anything. She provided account number, sent text to phone with confirmation code and have exact details (amount only) about last 2 charges and last payment. Very professional, and spoke clear English. I'm glad that they watch out for my best interest. This IS how it works so those that say it's fraud, not everything is.

I did not answer the call or text but called the number on the back of my card in question. They verified it was them trying to contact me about fraudulent charges. Helped he cancel card, report fraud & cancel card.

This was a legit call from Synchrony fraud service. There was someone using my Amazon Store card. There were 2 attempted charges and one went through. After sending me a verification link on my phone she closed my old account and sent me a new card. They are removing the old charge and blocking the new one. She did not ask for my social. She only asked for my name and then sent the link to click which I thought was scary, but did route to the same domain I used to log in to my actual account.
