Claimed to be the billing department for an Ascension Hospital (Scam call) reported by


I got a voicemail from a number in Farmington, Michigan claiming to be the billing department for an Ascension Hospital. The voicemail instructed to call back this phone number (8449980408) and the person who answered told me that my claims have been denied/they were collecting my medical dept. I have not received a notice of a failed claim from my insurance provider so I was weary. When she tried to take my personal information, I declined, and she suggested that I handle myself with my insurance. She seemed annoyed, and it all felt very strange. I confirmed that this claim was in fact accepted, and validated this call as scammer.

Called and left a voicemail claiming to be a hospital / medical debt collector. Called back and was asked to give personal information for myself and members of my family. No debt. DO NOT give them any information. Instead, call your healthcare provider directly.

NOT Ascension Health number (Scam call) reported by


This number popped up as "Scam likely" on my phone so I didn't answer it. They did leave a message that said they were trying to resolve a debt owed to Ascension. Although we have some relationship with Ascension Health, we do not have any debt with them. When I researched a patient services/billing number, this number is definitely NOT one of Ascension's numbers.

VM said to call Ascension Health pt services for an outstanding pt balance. When I called back, it is not identified as Ascension Health. I was put on hold "Due to high call volume." I hung up. Very Fishy to me and don't have any debt owed to Ascension that I can think of.

Called and left a message asking to call back about a debt. Called back and immediately placed on hold. So instead I called directly to hospital billing department from which they were claiming to be from and it has a completely different menu style. This seems like a scam.

It was a recording telling me to call back a certain number. I tried calling back you’re not given choices like with the REAL Ascension hospital. It just says customer service and places you on a hold. I didn’t bother to wait for someone to answer as I know I don’t owe anything to them. If you don’t pay full amount they send you to another company to make payments.
