My printer was having issues, so I went to the website a few days in a row trying to figure it out, and the chat was unavailable until finally on Sunday the chat box popped up, I closed it, it came back, I closed it again, it came back finally I made the mistake of believing the guy and gave him access to my computer. Luckily my phone died and so did my internet, plus it's a relatively new computer so there is no financial info on it.

I was having issues with my printer and forgot how to connect it… i thought i was on a actual site to help with my printer but when he put me on hold i saw where the printer settings were. My printer had fell a few months ago and thought it was issues with it….. he says everything is fine with it BUT it’s something else stopping it from connecting to the cpu . And they couod fix it when he said if i had time for him to do it i told him no i had to go he said call back if i still needed help anhe hurried and hung up

I was having trouble with my printer set up and went to canon's website, a pop-up chat line came appeared and I told the man my issues, I agreed to a remote link with Zoho, We did a couple of things and he then said something was preventing the connection to the printer and they could fix it for $199.00, I told him no, then he did something and disconnected. I am very concerned he has all my information. I have since changed all my passwords.

Trying to put printer online and talked to a tech person and did what he told me and at the end of fixing my computer they wanted $200 to fix that i had already said i didn't want to pay $200 before he started but still charged me $200 for something I had previously said I wasn't paying $200 to begin with so watch out

was looking online for HP printer support. Left the room,returned and there was a pop-up chat with "Kevin" who I assumed was a HP tech. I chatted. Seemed legit since I DID think I was on a LEGIT HP site. Downloaded Zoho remote and he opened up a TextEdit screen where he and I chatted. He did want $199 to do the coding and complicated layering that the network was missing (or something close to that since when I said NO he closed the text/edit screen without saving it as a LEGIT COMPANY lets you save your communication. I disconnected and deleted the Zoho thing and didn't do anything else. Oddly at 3 am I woke up and checked my phone and there was a message from my bank about fraud. Apparently he DID take my email and phone number. 15 fraud withdrawals before I called the bank and PayPal to stop it. reporting to bank. paypal. and the FTC

The caller pretended to be support for Canon printer issue. Recommended costly "cleaning of my computer" before brand new printer could be installed. Only at the end did he acknowledge not to be Canon but a third-party outfit.
