Woman said she was from my university Barnes & Noble Bookstore and that I had a past due balance from books that hadn’t been turned in. I knew it was a scam right away because I keep very good records regarding books/school. I asked her what the book titles were. She said she couldn’t see that information but that I needed to give her my credit card information right away to get this past due balance taken care of. I just hung up and blocked the number

Called about an unreturned rented textbook. Said money was owed but the account had already been paid. This is a total scam. I called Barns and Noble corporate and they do not recognize the number. This is 100% Fraud.

I rented books from my university bookstore associated with Barnes & Noble and kept them at the end of the year, not yet having paid the full price for them. I've gotten many emails from them (this is something that is generally only done on the bookstore website or IN the actual store) until this person called from +1000000000 insisting I pay them today, saying it can only be done over the phone. She knew the titles of the books I'd rented and the cost to buy them. I asked if I could call back tomorrow and she insisted that she'd call me back, but I pushed a bit and she gave me this number: (844)840-7241. Sketchy and WILL be ignored (I could be wrong but I'd rather pay for the books in person haha).

Some guy called me and said they were from my university and they wanted to me to pay for passed due books that I forgot to return. I asked him if he worked at a debt collectors company he said no, he said he worked at my university. I asked if I can go to the office at Depaul he said that their office is actually in some other state. He gave me my old address, and pretended he knew all the account information. 85% this was a scammer.
