the Devos family trying to collect on student loans while Betsy Devos is still working in the Trump administration. Free to fleece Americans during a pandemic where we are lucky to have enough money to eat. Why not try to get money out of us for the useless degree I ended up with while I'm lucky to be breathing at the moment virus free.

So the company is legit. They are a Debt Collector for the Dept of Education. If they are calling you it would be wise to speak with them. They are calling on behalf of a federal debt. There is no statue of limitations on student loan debt so bankruptcy won't even clear the debt. If the debt is unresolved repayment is normally done involuntary through Treasury offsets all wage garnishments. Its best to voluntarily resolve the debt. If the debt is not yours more than likely it is a relative's that you co-sign for.

conversation went like this: scammer: Hi, may I speak to [relative's name]? me: who's speaking? scammer: this is Gloria. me: from where? scammer: central research. me: *pauses bc this is definitely a scammer and I wanna see what her next response is* scammer: is this the best number to reach you at? I just hung up at that point bc it's obviously a scammer

A man by the name of Jacob calls me daily asking to resolve debt from school loans he also leaves messages on my voicemail and wants my social security number and bank account numbers to (help) me consolidate my loans from school. Threatening to take income tax returns until debt is paid if I do not cooperate. Why would they need my social security number if it was really the government? I told him no that I will not give those numbers and he got angry and yelled at me saying that they will take everything from me for not paying school loans. Jacob wanted to work out a payment plan with me.. great way to get bank acct info! When someone pushes for that kind of info i worry and they are not gonna get that from me!

if you took out a student loan and haven't been doing your payments they will take it away from your tax return, i received a letter from the U.S Department of treasury that they took away my tax return to pay it off and they were the ones that gave me this number 1844-804-84xx to get into the loan rehabilitation program and finish paying off my student loan. You can call the dept of treasury to see if you have any student loans and they will let you know. It might be a scam or maybe is not but you can always call and ask if your not sure if you own anything =)
