This is a scam, I finished paying $3800, in school Loans in defaulted school loans that I had 0 clue about. I was disabled in 2008, and by law The US DOT, must have a member review and see if the amount you will receive monthly puts you before the Poverty Rate, and I never went through that, however since 2010, in which I received a lump sum of $37,000, they took close to $5,000, and this number claims to be Nelnet, however I had a different Collection Agency taking an average of $187/month for 10 years as well as the $187/month only until I caught them due to them claiming to be a Collector For the Federal Government and in August of 2019, the original company switched it to the real Nelnet after I caught them taking 15% as well as my state government taking 15% for taxes, and they, as in Federal 1st. State 2nd both took out $190.70 in that specific month and I ripped the original debt Collector out on the BBB Website and they sent me a letter 3 days after stating that I have completed the payments, when in reality I had finished in June 2014, The reason why I know that this is not Nelnet is because I had originally spoken with the real company Nelnet and they told me that my loan appeared to be 100% paid off in June 2014. They also referred me to the Disability Discharge Program that they offered with the correct documentation could have great implications for me to get the basic amount of on average of $2200/year and an initial payment of $4,700 back, because the real Nelnet Collection Agency as well as the Disability Discharge Program could not even locate any active loans in my name. I am basically just forewarning everyone to ear on the side of caution with them. because I have been and I am currently going through serious issues with that phone number.
