Pretends to be credit card fraud (Scam call) reported by Bee Careful
I had a elderly relative fall for one of those scam free Costco gas cards that only ask for a credit card to pay for shipping and handling of the card. The web page that was associated with this scam somehow would trigger an automatic call from 844-797-5647 claiming to be the fraud department of the credit card service associated with the charges. They were asking this relative personal information before i overheard it and cut off the call. I next looked up the customer service number for the card and called the number on the back of the card, who quickly verified that in just thepast few minutes where this had taken place there had already been a fraudulent $100 charge on the account. Secondly i asked them if they knew of or had any association with the 844-797-5647 number claiming to be from their card services, not only did they not recognize the number but they called the number themselves and said the phone number was not legitimate. So although your caller I.D. may be saying this is from your credit card service, i would stay away from this call.
