This appears to be T-mobile customer retention since they are calling me repeatedly after I switched carriers. They are ignoring that I opted out of phone communcations, and that my phone is on the DNC list. That's probably why they're not leaving messages.

Maybe you were recently a SPRINT customer but T-Mobile took over SPRINT so it's possible you owe a payment on your bill and T-Mobile is trying to reach you before they terminate your cell service they also texted me and yes I owe a payment ie past due it's legit its T-Mobile. If you call back from the number they T-Mobile called you on it will bring up your info on their end. People call this number a scam it's more like they are trying to avoid paying their bills.

The call asked me to push 1 if I was indeed the correct named person then stated I owed $XX.XX to T-Mobile but didn’t offer any option to pay. In my case this was a legitimate call from T-Mobile for closing an account and still owing a payment. I also got a letter in the mail stating the same thing. Oddly the amount owed on the call was slightly different than the letter amount. Also, I only received this call once.

I am currently on my phone with T-MOBILE & asked them about this number (no, I did not call the number back; I called their "Contact Us" number in the T-Mobile app as I AM a customer. The person I spoke to said that YES, this number (844-796-0648) IS A T-MOBILE NUMBER!! Currently, they are having a problem with a past-due amount that they've been claiming, even though I've been on Auto-Pay for over a year (problem with transfer from Sprint to T-Mobile, coupled with the purchase of a new phone with a case that never arrived 'cuz it was stuck on a boat somewhere, so there was the credit for that AND a credit for the case I bought in store to replace the one that they promised me that never arrived 'cuz, again, IT WAS STUCK ON A BOAT during the time of low water &/or oceanic bottleneck from other boats!!). Ready to pitch T-Mobile overboard for Comcast mobile services!!! ????????????????

They will send a text message, mail you a bill, or if you're online, you can look at your bill online. They will never call you about a past due bill. This is a scam, and you can hear when the scammers click over from the recording.

No, it's not. I contacted t-mobile (I'm a customer) and they said that it's not their number. Also, they would never call me about a past due bill. If it's past due long enough it goes to collections and then they will call. Not, t-mobile.
