Call from foreign man claiming to work for Quickbooks. He told me something was wrong with the quickbooks update. I told him if he was from Quickbooks he should email me. He hung up. The website looks legit, however he misrepresented himself as calling from quickbooks. No doubt in my mind this was a SCAM call.

A guy with foreign accent (? Russian ) said that he was a computer technician. He did address me with my first name. . I quickly interrupted him saying I did not have computer problems and never reported one and asked him no call back then hanged up without giving him the chance to talk anymore.

Even though I told them services and the card have been cancelled, they then said that they would refer the issue to their legal department. This whole issue started with services provided by Alien Technologies.

They called my company and said they were INTUIT and we had a 404 sync error and they needed to update. I got through their calls, they had enough facts to sound believable. It was a very well scripted scam with props. They said our company file was 68% corrupt and they could fix it for a fee (this is where I started NOT believing them, but again they had just enough facts to seem legit. One year for $699, two for $899. The guy with whom I spoke seemed miffed I didn't choose the 2 year subscription. I gave him the Credit card number and then he became much less believable. I had one of my work mates verify the number they called from and then he googled it. It came up SCAM SCAM SCAM. I told the guy on the phone we thought they were scamming us and he started excuses. My boss checked our card and it had already been charged in the amount of $699.99. He disputed the charge and cancelled the card so they could not do any further damage. I then called Intuit and told them about the scam and they said they NEVER call about a corrupt file. They said "If you get a call from Intuit about a file, HANG UP!" The caller had a credible website saying they were an authorized Intuit support, which Intuit said they were not.

someone I couldn't understand called and was telling me I was going to be charged for something or other in the amount of $149 if I didn't want to be charged to open my computer and do as he told me. I refuse to open the computer since I really don't know much more than doing FB and email. I ended up hanging up on him and then he called me back 3 times. I did not answer. I have made my son aware of what is going on and he will do a follow up for me.

Scamming to get my QuickBooks Information (Scam call) reported by


Caller claimed to be from QuickBooks and was asking if I had updated my QuickBooks. I asked why he was asking these questions, to which he stated, "Your QuickBooks is coming up on QuickBooks servers as an error 404." I explained that didn't make sense as that's not how QuickBooks really works. I then told him I didn't feel like he was being honest with me since QuickBooks never calls without verifying account information and he didn't do that. I asked him what my name and my business name were and he hung up.

Someone called, said they were with Quickbook, gave me instructions to fix something on my Quickbooks that was NOT broken, but would not explain why I was doing so. Eventually, they just hung up. Made me angry.

Some guy named "John" called claiming to be a QB's rep. once I declined to do what they asked. I was hung up on. More likely they were trying to hack our QB's. NOT GOOD augh!. Report filed with QB's.
