Strategic Services said I had an old debt (um, no I don't). They threatened to file charges within 48 hrs. I filed a complaingt with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, the calls stopped a week later.

Caller called my phone looking for my mother. Also threatening legal action. When I called the number back and asked for more info he asked for the name, I gave him my moms name, he asked me to spell it, so I did. He then said he couldn't find this in his legal database, he then asked for the phone number that was called. I gave it to him. They already have it, what more can they do? He then said Oh sorry this was a wrong number. I said "well yea I would assume so since my mother passed away about 2 years ago this month. Have a great day." and he disconnected the call. Horrible.

Saying there is an investigation on my SS and bank. When called the number they said it was Citi retail which isn't true. Called Citi they had no record!!!! Total scam!!!!

I called back and laughed at the woman who answered and told her she’s a joke. She screamed “f*** you b****” at me and slammed the phone down. I called back and she screamed more profanity. We did this several times more until she just stopped answering. Yeah, this is not a legit business. Lol

The number called someone else's phone- someone I barely talk to. The caller's number was unavailable when it rang in. My old acquaintance didn't answer. The voice mail was from a man (attorney?) who called himself Paul Jones. He used an ancient name of mine that had zero debts and no property in that name. He said that he was going to serve me if I didn't contact him by the end of the next business day. He threatened property retention and garnishment of my wages. My former acquaintance used to be a debt collector and said that the voice mail sounded completely scammy- and if it wasn't scammy- it was downright illegal, because companies aren't legally allowed to leave such sensitive info about garnishment and property retention on voice mail. As well, I was told that you needed to be physically served paperwork from the court and that this kind of problem wouldn't confront you out of the blue with no other physical mailings about debt or many reasonable attempts to first reach you on the phone.
