they're just trying to phish information and money out of gullible people, they aren't real debt collectors, real debt collection isn't done over the phone or by credit card block them, or waste as much of their time as you can if you want to hinder their fraudulent operation. but whatever you do, do NOT give them any personal information or say affirmative words like "yes"

Broke into a phone call to troll (Unsolicited call) reported by


I was on the phone talking to my son when the line went dead then this guy gets on asking for me and saying he was LeBron. Asked what he wanted and after some dead air said itw as a personal matter. I hung up and lost the call with my son.

A lady was on the line asking to speak with (my name) and I asked who was asking. She said "I can go over that with you but I have to confirm this is (my name)." I confirmed my name and asked again why she wanted to know. She then explained that she was calling on a personal business matter and to confirm my birthday. I told her I didn't want to confirm any other information without knowing her "personal business matter." She persisted, telling me my correct birthday, correct last 4 of my social and then a random address I've never heard before. I again refused to give her any more personal information until she could specify why she was calling and she gave up and said goodbye. Number now blocked. Ugh.

Someone used my phone number to take out a loan. I called the number back and spoke with someone. The business is Wakefield & Associates. I confirmed the phone number and they asked me if I was (different name than mine) and I said, "No. That's my number but that's not my name." The woman I talked to said she would take my number off the list and was very friendly.

Someone claiming to be Sandy Franks a courier to deliver certified documentation. In my experience, a courier is not going to call you to bring paperwork.

I didn't answer the call because I don't answer calls from unknown numbers. The guy thought he hung up, but I heard him typing and breathing very heavy and saying some obscene things under his breath. In the background, I heard a bunch of people scamming other callers - "Yes, but you have to pay the debt in full." I don't owe anyone any money, I pay my bills on time but I got to overhear what they were up to. Do not answer and block their number.
