Card number given in message was not my credit union account but another card. I called the number on the back of the card and was told six or seven items had been charged on that credit card--all fraudulent. Card has been canceled, and the issuer will send me a new one. However, using a contractor to call customers about fraudulent activity is just plain stupid, because anyone with a brain will assume that call is also a scam.

Called twice, left one voicemail with the last four digits of my CC#. Called my credit union out of precaution and they verified the information then eventually had my call transferred to this service. Recommend similar action for safety

Legit call. Let it go to VM - listened. Was told by robot voice that fraud detected on my credit card, and to call the same number back. But, I didn't... instead I phoned my credit union directly and after verifying that I am their member, they confirmed that there is strange transactions, and my account's frozen, and that the number they called from, and wanted me to call back, is legitimate (but I would still never call a random number and give out info). But, nice to know it's real!

This was a legitimate call. I did not call this number back but rather my credit union number directly and they did in fact place a security hold on my card to verify some recent activity.

I didn't recognize the number so didn't answer. They left an automated message saying there was questionable activity on our credit card account. I called the number on the back of my card and they verified that their automated system had sent out an inquiry from this number. It is a legitimate number but if you have any qualms about it, just call the number on the back of your credit card instead.
