Recording, looking for the whereabouts of someone I didn't even know, stated they would "contact the authorities" if this person didn't contact them. Called back after recording ended, got a foreign lady who barely understood English. Hung up. Obviously some kind of scam.

The voice mail says ,"Hello my name is Mark Wallace. I'm calling today in regards to a formal complaint that's been filed against one (gave my family member's name said by robot),If you have any information on the whereabouts of (family member name given again with robot). Please contact our office immediately at 844-369-0788. Our next steps will be to notify the proper authorities. Thank you." These people are scammers according to websites I have googled. Am going to google every government website to report these ****. Using my family's members name to try to scare me is pathetic. Report them.

I'm not sure how they got my contact list out of my phone but they did somehow and it is really really scary that people can do that. I was thinking somehow an app sent them my contact list from my phone but I am not sure really.

Sometimes the number displayed is 844-369-0787. This is a known scam where the caller states that there has been a complaint filed against you or uses some name that is completely unintelligible. It could be information from a past debt, whether in collection or not. I blocked the 844-369-0787 number yesterday based on the huge number of scam complaints published. Today, they called back but this time from 844-369-0788 (one digit off). I did answer this call and there was no one there.
