I received an e-mail from these guys with an 'invoice' for $299.88 letting me know that my Norton 360 subscription had been automatically renewed. I don't have Norton on my computer and wondered why I was getting this message. I called the number (818.492.9996) and a gentlemen with a THICK INDIAN accent answered. When I explained the issue, he told me to download a remote access software tool. I stated multiple times that I didn't want anyone on my computer. He attempted to explain that that is how 'I COULD ACCESS THEIR SERVER TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION'. As soon as I provided them the information from the remote access software, I saw someone attempt to gain access to my computer. I immediately closed the window and closed the remote software. However, they started to connect to my computer again so I restarted my computer and immediately uninstalled the remote software. Dummy me, when I look closer at the e-mail I received, the 'From' e-mail address was from a gmail.com account, not a 'norton360.com' or 'norton.com' e-mail address. On a weird side note, when I attempted to find the e-mails again after restarting my computer a second time after uninstalling the software, the e-mails are no longer ANYWHERE to be found in my e-mail system. Not in the Inbox, Trash, or Spam folders...very suspicious.
