Attempt to hijack my computer (Scam call) reported by


The caller told me my web site was down and offered to connect to his computer to fix it. He told me to download Teamviewer and then he could connect to my computer to help. As an IT professional I know a scam when I see one. I kept lying about what was on the screen for about 10-15mins and the man got very angry, shouted something I didn't understand and few words I did, swore at me again then put the phone down. DO NOT ANSWER - NEVER DOWNLOAD ANYTHING - NEVER LET ANYONE HAVE REMOTE ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER!

Kept trying to tell me my website was down. They called the library's customer service line. They kept repeating the website was down and it said to call our number if they saw it was down. I kept trying to verify if they were on the library's website, but they just kept repeating the same thing. I got on the website and it was working fine. When I told them that, they said thanks and hung up.
