SCAM (Debt collector) reported by Fell for the scam
Exact same scenario as most other callers. Received a call from the County Clerk Office 800-201-8999 stating they are trying to serve me with papers and wanted to verify the address on file. Stupid me, corrected the info they had. I probably should have read these reviews prior to. Gave me 30min hold on my case to call 818-299-5658 with an affidavit number to verify whatever information they needed. I called and spoke to Id#227 Simone Cox and was put on hold stating the lawyer was in and would see if they could get him to speak with me. After being on hold for a while, I received another call at which point the Law Office of Phillips & Associates CSR Simone Cox, hung up the phone. Not sure what fraud I was supposed to have committed, but they definitely fooled me with their tactics. I am no aware the County Clerk Office will never call you.

I had a guy from the county clerk call saying they were going to serve me papers and my address for Fraud. First of all they don't call you if they are serving papers to you. Second of all I don't live in that state anymore that they are trying to serve me papers! So I you get this phone call from this number its a scam DO NOT give them any money you do not owe them anything!!!!!

They will ask for your identity and bank acct. Ask to make payment Pls report this to police.

I received a call first from the County Recorder's phone number and they said I had 30 minutes to call the 818-299-5658 number or an affidavit was going to be served. I called back the County Recorder's number and they said no one from that office would call me regarding debt collection. Leads me to believe debt collector's are disguising their number :( I did call the 818 number and when I asked to find out what this call was regarding they wouldn't give me any information unless I gave them the last 4 of my SSN. When I wouldn't they hung up on me.

OMG ME TOO THEY CALLED ME AT WORK SAYING THE EXACT SAME THING AND CALLED FROM ANOTHER PHONE AND SOMEONE AT THE LAW OFFICE SAID SHE WAS THE ANSWERING SERVICES TRANSFERRING CALLS...BS
