"Windows Cancellation Department" (Scam call) reported by


This is a scam claiming to be the "Windows Cancellation Department". They want to send you a form that you can use to "cancel" your subscription to the windows firewall (which is free). I assume that form, or a later part of the conversation would be used to gather your personal information and then use that to steal money or your identity.

Threat to Charge Bank Account (Nuisance call) reported by


Call came in at 2:00 pm on 9/25/18 with voice recording saying something about charging my bank account for a Microsoft subscription. As soon as I heard that I hung the phone and BLOCKED the call with my call blocking device attached to my telephone. I do not have any subscription with Microsoft and believe this is a 100% SCAM! I got a call blocking device in April, 2017 because I am tired of being hounded, harassed, and my privacy being invaded by low life, despicable, fraudulent scam artists.

Phone number leaves message saying you will be charged to continue some subscription and to call the same number if you don't want to be charged. I called the number multiple times to get their full "script". If you want to cancel they promise to offer a refund of $299 but first you have to install supremocontrol which will allow the scammers to introduce ransomware on your computer which will render it inoperable unless you pay them to remove it. If you say you want to continue the subscription (only $599 for 5 years) you have to install supremocontrol.

I let the call go to voice mail because caller said “unavailable” and hey, if you’re unavailable so am I. Caller left message saying my bank account would be auto-charged $599 for Microsoft subscription renewal. I called the number back and was surprised to get a valid number and even more so that a human answered. I asked why I had been called and was told because my “AVG Anti-virus and other subscriptions” were due to expire and my bank account would be “auto-charged” $99 for renewal of various services.
