The phone they called on is a relatively new work number for me and would not be related to any owed debt. They called and left a message saying they were collecting on a debt and did not say who the call is for. They are not supposed to just let anyone listen to a call about a debt and they should not be calling on a work number and leaving a message there.

Some American scammer called saying that I owed money on an apartment I recently moved out of (~5 months ago). Luckily I had documentation showing I paid this amount a couple of months prior. That being said, it was weird they knew the exact amount I owed at the time I moved out. I just wish I could be 100% certain that it was a scam during the phone call... could've had some fun there.

Debt collector attempting to garnish wages, spam calls. American (Debt collector) reported by


A debt collector is unable to garnish wages, another scam call center. Multiple calls per day. Holding call says "you are doing the right thing by attempting to pay the money you owe". Left a few harsh words for them calling them a criminal, I stopped receiving calls after this.
