they want some money for a student loan that I never got and I didn't go to college so I called them back and they give you the option oppressing to if you do not have a student loan. so it's just another nuisance that keeps changing numbers which are local area code to make you think that it's probably someone legit.NOT!!!

Caller claims to be Department of Education asking to go over a student loan forgiveness program. I answered thinking it was my Student Loan servicer, but quickly realized it was not. They start off stating that they can provide student loan forgiveness and significantly reduce payments while having to ask you how much debt you have. I gave made up figures just to test them as well as made up salary figures. They they "offered me" some extremely unrealistic payment plan and then tried to ask for my social security number...ha! Then I hung up.

Caller named Amanda Collins stating she is from Student Loan Repayment and that I have to contact them soon because repayment of my loans were starting soon. I know it's a scam because I know the specific name of the company that handles my loan repayment, it's not Student Loan Repayment. Also, payments have been deferred until 2022 as a pandemic relief.

calls from this number on my caller id: 509-596-6565. voicemail left says that they need to hear back from me soon as possible, and delaying this process may cause wage garnishment and tax upset or offset (last part not that clear). gave a call back number of: 817-345-0891. I called back, and was greeted promptly with really bad hold music. as soon as someone answers, I tell him that I do not have a loan, and he just hangs up. beware of this scam.

"Hi this is amanda from the federal student loan assistance center, i'm calling because you have approximately 90 days before payments pick back up that includes wage garnishments and tax upset, um give us a call so we can go ahead and set you up into the federal student loan forgiveness program through the department of education it is income-based and we can definitely get you in that as soon as possible"
