SCAM!!! Robo-like call with American-sounding automated voice prompting me to select option 1 to “unlock my Verizon Wireless account” that has been frozen. B*S!!! I did NOT comply; hung up; sent a text with their number to Verizon security staff. Please note that this robo call number is eerily close to the Verizon Customer Service-toll free #, except for one-digit :-((

Automated call said my Verizon account was locked. I hung up and called Verizon Customer Service and was told it was a scam and that they were trying to get my personal info. They have called me three times from different numbers, once it was my own number that came up on my caller I.D.. Verizon said if they call, just hang up, NEVER give them any information.

I answered the call and the gentleman answered saying he was Verizon Wireless and actually asked what I was calling for. I responded that the automated prompt said I had fraudulent activity on my account and it was thereby frozen. He said something about someone trying to purchase a phone in NY and then he placed me on hold. That was when I realized he hadn't asked me for my pin, name, or address, which is typical when calling into VZ. I hung up.
