Told me he needed the name of a favorite pet to call me back! (Scam call) reported by


SCAM ALERT! PLEASE READ! I had been looking at cruises online a couple years ago with Princess cruises, so I wasn't totally shocked when I received a call saying this foreign guy was my new travel specialist with Princess Cruises, and was offering a 2 for 1 Alaskan cruise. We actually talked for about 21 minutes. I mentioned needing an accessible room quote because of my mobility scooter, and he couldn't seem to go any further. He said before he could call me back that he had to know the name of a FAVORITE PET! I told him I wasn't going to answer that, and he said okay..."well I have to put it in the system to show that I asked you. Can you just tell me then the name of your high school or favorite job?" I explained that I wasn't going to give him any security questions. He said Oh...these aren't security questions. I just can't call you back with the information unless I have something. I wish I would have yanked him around, but instead, I hung up. I had originally spoken to an English speaking lady 2yrs ago, who had routinely sent me emails. He said she was promoted. This guy was friendly. We had a good conversation with my noisy kiddos. I had no give for suspicion. I still wonder if person worked for the actual company. I checked my emails. He sent me an email, which shows princess.com, but is flagged for not being sent encrypted by Princess. I noticed that the original lady's email was the same way. Her email address had her name before it, tho. Ex: [email protected]. Not sure if I was being scammed the whole time, or if just this particular gentleman working for them has a side hustle. The email is very strange, and not like the promotional emails I receive from Princess cruises. This may look like the real number, but I wonder if it's being spoofed. Nobody should be asking for your personal security questions. Not anyone at any regular old company. Not any customer service rep anywhere! And certainly not inorder to be able to call you back. SCAM ALERT!!!!!!
