The person on the line said they were with Duke Energy. They said they had a disconnection notice for my place of business. I don't have Duke Energy. When I let them know that, the person on the other end of the line hung up.

This is the real Duke Energy number, but is being masked by a scammer who says your payments are overdue, and gives you another phone number (the "billing department") to call to make payment. Hang up and call Duke Energy directly to check on your account.

They are a scam!! They will direct you to call 844-446-2499 and they will threaten to cut off your lights. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR ACCOUNT INFO. This is NOT Duke Energy.

Guy with a heavy African accent stated they have been trying to get in touch with me for weeks. That's definitely not true. He said they want to send me a valuable package but needed to send them money for it.
